MY PUBLICATIONS
This section does not pretend to be a complete list of books and papers (scientific or not) produced throughout a professional career of more than 50 years, but only a walk through the different categories, which sometimes coincide with cycles of my existence, showing in some cases examples of written contributions. Some of these publications are no longer commercially available and others have suffered from the technological time of their publication (pre-computers).
Didactic and related to the university reform production (approximately 1981-2000).
Belonging to this group are three simple texts from the subject Basic Physics 2 that I taught for a few semesters at the beginning of my university career. Those texts are ‘homemade’ editions without many aesthetic pretensions.
Taking advantage of a sabbatical year and responding to an express request from my children’s school, I produced the first volume of a Physics text for High School and Pre-University Course. It was a frustrating experience, due to the refusal of the teachers of that school to use a text (and their approach), preferring to have a monopoly on the bibliography of the subject which was reduced to photocopies sold by the teachers.
On the side of the university reform of the years 1979-1990 I was actively involved from teachers union functions with articles, booklets (on co-governance) and ideas focused on regulations (especially on teaching, teacher evaluation, etc.), I will show now some examples:
Scientific production and popular science (1986-2015)
The list of scientific articles, co-authored in general, includes about twenty publications in national and international scientific journals in the field of my research (fractals, astronomy, then atmospheric physics, essentially).
In terms of scientific dissemination, the format is more aesthetic. Let’s look at some examples:
Production related to energy policy (2000-2024)
In concomitance with the expansion of my area of interest towards hydrocarbons and energies and the ephemeral transit through service in the government, there were a series of publications in the form of booklets of dissemination and analysis, contributions to events, contributions to collective works and as editors of official documents. Here are some samples:
Anthological production of selected opinion columns (2004-2021)
After a few occasional opinion columns in the newspaper Presencia, I began to write since 1999 a biweekly opinion column in La Prensa, under the title of “The Satellite of the Moon”, mainly on topics related to science and society. Then I continued publishing my columnsin La Razón and finally landed in Página Siete from its foundation until its closure (2021).
Selected columns from those years were collected in anthologies of my own authorship, co-authorship and contributions to other collections.
Production as an intellectual contribution (continuous activity).
It refers to presentations at events, later collected in Proceedings or in collective books, in different fields: scientific, philosophical, technical, tribute, etc. Here are a few examples:
Production on religious and spiritual themes (continuous activity).
They are productions published in different formats: PPT, audiovisuals (uploaded on my YouTube channel), brochures, contributions to official documents of the Bolivian Catholic Church and, lately, in a book (co-authored with Father Max Schiller, Little Brother of the Gospel) of texts selected from the “Lectio Divina” that I have been giving for years.
Actually, that kind of production is scattered throughout my entire output, as an attentive reader will immediately notice.
